Meet acclaimed sculptor Star Liana York and premier painter B.C. Nowlin in Scottsdale during the Opening of their Two Artist show titled, “Voices and Journeys” where the duo will reveal a new collection of limited-edition bronze sculptures and original oil paintings.

Star Liana York
Star has been sculpting since 1985, inspired by the people, animals, and mythology of the Southwest. An avid horsewoman, she draws creative energy from her ranch near Abiquiu, New Mexico, surrounded by expansive vistas. Her bronze sculptures, celebrated for their personal and universal resonance, have earned her recognition as one of Southwest Art Magazine’s 30 most influential artists. She has received prestigious honors, including the Artist Choice Award from the National Cowgirls Museum and Hall of Fame. Her monumental works are part of notable collections such as the Smithsonian Institution, Miami Zoo, and Millicent Rogers Museum.

B.C. Nowlin
B.C. creates vibrant original oil paintings inspired by spiritual journeys and his cross-cultural upbringing near the Sandia Pueblo Reservation. Known for his complex originality and vivid palette, his work has been exhibited worldwide, including in the Grandberg Museum in Stockholm and the Museum of Iraq in Baghdad. His collectors range from members of the U.S. Senate to celebrities like Sophia Loren and Robert Plant. Nowlin’s art has been featured in Hollywood films, album covers, and documentaries, further cementing his cultural influence. Living in the heart of New Mexico, he draws inspiration from motorcycle rides across the Rio Grande to his studio, where he paints and writes.
